September is Community Impact Month, which gives Minnesota Bankers Association member banks a focused period to engage employees in community service activities and shows banks’ vital role in supporting their communities.
Our team focuses on building a better future for our communities as part of our mission. To give back, the Drake Bank team had three events to participate in.
Feed My Starving Children
Our first volunteer event was at Feed My Starving Children in Eagan, where we had the opportunity to pack meals for children in Haiti. Each meal is developed by scientists and nutritionists to help children grow, thrive, and develop to their full potential.
As a team, along with other volunteers, we packed 53 boxes containing 11,448 meals, which will feed 31 kids a daily meal for an entire year!
Kids In Need Foundation
Our second event was at Kids In Need Foundation, which partners with teachers and students in underserved schools nationwide to help them focus on education.
This year, we put together Supply A Teacher boxes that provide necessary resources for teachers in underserved schools. These items will help fuel a full semester for their entire class. We boxed 288 boxes of teacher supplies, which will impact 6,912 kids!
Neighborhood House
We hosted a food drive at the Bank as a month-long event. All the food collected will be donated to the Neighborhood House to help stock their food market. In total, we collected over 100 items!
